Booking Process
What is the booking process?
The booking process is done in 3 simple steps:
1) Submit inquiry form on our contact page with as much detail as you can provide
2) We will check your date is available and confirm with quotation and terms via email reply
3) You secure your date with a booking deposit and we give final confirmation upon receipt and your date is held and confirmed.
Do you require a deposit? Is it refundable?
Yes, we require a non-refundable booking deposit of 200eur in order to secure your date.
When is the remaining balance due?
The final balance must be paid on or before the night of your event – prior to the band starting (paying before the start of the show means the responsible person can enjoy themselves without that hanging over them. Also, after the show, the band want to knock off and get home rather than wait while payment is tracked down – it’s just messier!). If you want to pay with instalments prior to the night, this can be accommodated – just let us know.
Do you charge extra for travel? Are there any hidden charges?
The price quoted is the complete price and there are no hidden charges.
Service Details
Do you travel nationwide/international?
Yes, Masquerade can travel to accommodate your event. Please submit full details on our contact page for quote.
How long does the band play?
Masquerade play for 2hrs with a 15min break (only if required) for evening food. It is preferred not to take a break as the momentum/vibe of the gig is lost. (please note that professional touring music acts don’t have an interval – for this very reason)
Do you provide a DJ service?
Yes, we can provide a professional and proven experienced DJ service who will play as late as 2:30am (curfew allowing) for an extra charge. Please include this requirement for an accurate quotation.
Do you provide ceremony and drinks reception music?
No, but we have many contacts from which we can recommend a suitable high quality group. Just specify this in your initial query along with what you would like and we will do our best to direct you to a professional and reputable act.
Do you provide all sound equipment and lighting?
Yes, the quotation will include all required sound equipment and stage lighting (including disco lighting if the DJ service is requested)
The Band
Is the band the same members as shown in the video?
Yes, Masqerade is an *actual* band – unlike many of the ‘manufactured’ wedding bands that send a bunch of people that have never met each other to play your wedding (yes that happens!!). There may be instances (illness, or other unforseen circumstances) which may require a professional and high quality/rehearsed substitute member, but we always endeavour to avoid this! Even with a substitution, the band will be equally amazing!
How long have the band played together?
Masquerade have played together (in various forms of bands) for 10+years
How does the band dress?
Masquerade dress as you see in the promotional video, however style and color may vary.
Do you interact with the crowd?
Yes!! This is one of the main reasons to pick Masquerade for your Wedding/Event – we live to entertain the crowd by engaging with the crowd and ensuring maximum fun for them! You will be 100% glad you booked Masquerade and we guarantee you will NOT be disappointed!
Can we see the band perform at a wedding?
We will try to accommodate this upon request, but it is not always feasible. We will post any live public showcase events to our website and email list for you to see us live. Also the videos on our YouTube channel are recorded live with no overdubs/corrections, so that is 100% how we sound and look.
Event Night
Can the band play our first dance?
Masquerade can play your first dance, with at least 2wks advance notice to learn it properly. However, most couples usually prefer to have the original song played for the authenticity and video quality.
Can you set up before the meal?
Due to our ultra fast setup time this is not usually required, however if requested will incur an extra charge (and may not be possible due to travel time, etc). Please ensure to specify in your initial request.
How much time is required to set up?
We require only 40min once we have access to the room (tables moved, etc)
Do the band cater for the older guests?
Masquerade’s set consists of some great older rock songs and some waltzy-type ‘oldies’. We do our best to engage with the whole crowd so everyone enjoys the night. You won’t be disappointed!
Can we be sure the band won’t be too loud?
Yes, we have been in the business for long enough to know the correct volume for the venue and event. We take appropriate measures to ensure your guests are comfortable.
Can we decide the set list?
If you have certain songs that you either definitely want (or don’t want), you can let us know in advance of your event, however it is best left to our experience to judge what will work best for your guests on the night.
Do you allow guests to get up on stage?
Yes, if it is pre-arranged with the wedding party/event manager, and the person knows and wants to get up. Nothing worse than holding up the show with awkward silence, or someone wailing like a cat to the displeasure of the rest of the guests.
What is the Bride/Groom expected to arrange with the venue in advance?
Masquerade have played most venues across the country (in various bands). There should be nothing required specifically for you to arrange with the venue, and Masquerade will contact the venue in advance to ensure everything required for the band is available on the night.
