Masquerade were born to entertain…. so that’s what we do!
Masquerade (also known previously as The Usual Suspects) have played for many years together and are one of the best cover bands in Ireland. Many people have come up to the band after a show to say that they are “The BEST cover band they have ever seen”. Masquerade always love to hear that and take it as a huge compliment. The Usual Suspects had a Friday residency for many years in The Porterhouse Dublin, Temple Bar – one of the premiere music venues in Dublin very highly rated on Trip Advisor. The Porterhouse has live music every night of the week!
Jim (lead vocals) has performed with many famous Irish cover bands such as The Glitterbugs, Spring Break, and Whole Lotta Zepp. Jim has performed thousands of times for estimated total of >600,000 people during his career in Ireland (including many celebrities – even Michael Fasbender’s birthday!).
Brian (lead guitar, vocals) has played with many world-class acts ranging from River Dance, to Brian Downey’s Alive And Dangerous. Those of you that don’t know, Brian Downey is the original drummer of Thin Lizzy and you can see them in action in this promo video!
Jim and Brian were also the driving force behind the Dublin-based super-group White Chocolate with a “Tequila Tuesday” residency at The Mezz Bar. Playing mainly rock covers such as Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin, White Chocolate was often joined on stage by well-known musicians including Calum McAdam from BiPolar Empire (later joining Wild Youth).

We have FUN! Other bands just come and play their standard set to ‘get through it’, but Masquerade come to have FUN with your guests, and when the band have fun, the guests have fun!
Masquerade’s style is primarily based on ROCK, but because the band have played with such a widely diverse range of bands over the years, they have a passion for all types of music. Therefore, Masquerade often bring other styles into their set and give it that ‘Masquerade Flair’ that they are so well known for! Your wedding or event is GUARANTEED to be a success because whatever they play, will be sure to be FUN!

Yes, it is as simple as that! We love to do what we do and are REALLY good at it! We love to entertain and ensuring your guests have the best possible night is our SOLE FOCUS. The secret is in having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously. (Don’t worry, we take everything else seriously; your booking, any special requests for your event, the sound, the lights, the timing, your guests, and everything else!)
